Unit reflection

Civilization

Civilization is the unit where we got a chance touch all the civilization across the world. First we started the unit by an activity for understanding our knowledge of civilization. Through the unit we have done many activity but my best activity were wiki spaces in that activity we need to find about one particular civilization. As we went forward the acidity was being harder because when we finish mam said we had a quiz based on what have we done in the activity. We have written many things in the wiki. But at last we need to find time and learn from wiki spaces. In the wiki spaces there are many pages for different civilization. After preparing so much about the civilization the day came when we have a quiz. In the quiz we all the children done very well. I think all of them had a good understanding about the civilization. My second favorite activity was the field trip in the field trip we have gone to Slarjung museum in the museum we seen many things which come across civilization as we went the museum was being longer and wider also. At last when we finish we were too tiered. So much tired that we slept at the bus. This two activity I enjoyed a lot. During the unit we come across what are the invention and many structure that were discovered: made in that time. We have also made a time line based on the civilization. I enjoyed very much doing all the civilization activities.

UNIT REFLECTION

ENERGY unit starts when, we need to do an activity based on our central idea. We first done a sorting out activity on sources of energy. In that activity we sorted out different energy resources. And then we were divided into groups to do research on wind, solar, nuclear and petroleum energy. We need to make prezi of it. In middle days when we are making prezi we done an activity in which we need to make choice rather it is true or false. In that activity we enjoyed so much. After some days we completed our prezi and present it everyone's prezi was good and i can saw they understood very much about their source of energy.We also went to the field trip to CII godrej building. We learnt so much about green building and the structure it was made. And then we started the forms of energy for ex. heat, light, sound chemical and electrical. For that we went SA lab and done experiment on it. SA lab teacher show us experiment on chemical, magnetism and about electricity also. We learnt so much after seeing it. After doing all this we research on it and understood better. But the fun part was the SCIENCE FAIR. At the morning we went to AB building and celebrate science day we dress up in different scientist and present it in front of the whole school. In the science fair i have made a hydroelectricity model that produce electricity from water. It worked like this when i pour water on the turbine it rotates and it has a rope that was connected to a machine which convert rotation into electricity. Means mechanical energy into electric energy. Every parents who saw my enjoyed it so much. It was so fun to make a model and present it. At last the summative assessment was to energize a town that was given to us. It was very fun because we done it in last 30 min and we write and write and write. Now the unit is it in end so I want to tell this was my best unit in grade 5.

Reflection of the week 22.11.13

The week started and we had a new unit called human body. I was flabbergasted when mam said you have to do exercises every morning. The next day when the assembly was over mam said"its time for yoga. We learnt how to do padmasan and other Asans. When we reached the class room we went to grade 5 A for morning exercise dance. The next day when the assembly was over we discuss the question we have for human body and then we done morning exercise. After we come back from the art class we can see different poster on our body parts and description on it. We also done our portfolio reflection and setting up it. We make our class clean by putting up the question on inquiry wall, we also put our knowledge on building and structure on discovery wall.
